Meow! And Other Sounds Your Cat Makes: What Sounds Mean

Similar to people, cats have to eat healthy foods with nutrients. Without such a diet, your cat can either be malnourished, or become obese. Read the piece that follows to understand the proper diet for cats.

Prevent your cats from playing with drapery cords. It is easy for the cat to get his head caught among the cords when playing with them. This could even choke them to death. Pin back drape cords to avoid this type of issue.

When considering a new pet, make sure you visit the area shelter first. Shelters have lots of great cats available, and your adoption fee often covers key veterinary services. You’re literally saving their life.

Putting a warm tile beneath the bed of an older cat will help it rest comfortably. Put a square foot of terra cotta tile into your oven heated to 200 degrees. Keep the tile in the oven for about 15 minutes. Wrap it up in a towel and place it under where your cat sleeps. If you want, change it now and then so the warmth continues.

Taking your cat to the vet is part of being a responsible pet owner. Cats need routine annual check-ups and possibly additional ones as well for vaccinations. When the cat seems to be acting abnormally, take it to the vet immediately.

Put a collar on any cats which go outside. Cats can range far from your home and the tag will help them find their way home. Even if the tag just has your phone number, it can be the difference between your pet coming home and being lost forever.

Be aware that your cat’s diet is crucial for its health and well-being. A diet with an overabundance of bad food or even just minimal amounts of right foods can leave your cat unhealthy, unhappy and even dead too early. Do your cat right, and feed him or her the best food you can afford.
